Ethnic/Racial Map - Texas - Asia Gonzalez

Where different races are located in Texas:

This map shows how most of the population to the east of Texas is white, or another race. While the West and South-West parts of Texas have higher population of Hispanic people. This makes sense because of the fact that Texas is bordering Mexico, therefore there would be a lot of migration between these two places. This map is also based on population in general and the darker places, have less Hispanic people, while yellow places are the opposite.

The amount of Ancestry in Texas:

This map shows the amount of people with ancestors that have been in Texas. Bigger cities have the most obviously, because of the population there. Yet other places seem to have relatively newer populations. The biggest places with a older population is Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston. Again, these are the biggest cities so it makes sense.

Foreign Population in Texas:

This map is showing the amount of people that are not from Texas, but now live their. It shows a big  amount of migration and newer population from different areas. It also aligns with the fact that people are coming from places, like Mexico, because that's what Texas borders. Bigger cities also have higher ratings of people being not from there, because of it being popular. These cities like Houston, and Dallas have a lot of tourists.

These maps that I picked go all hand in hand. The map about race specifically shows how migration affects Texas, and how there are a lot of people migrating from Mexico, and different places. As well as it shows the amount of people that end up living in Texas aren't always born there. While also most ancestry is not specifically from Texas as well, other than big cities.

I love the fact that you did not only highlight the regions where the racial groups are found but also explanation to the trends like the regions being close to each other. I would also like to add that the southwest of Texas and Mexico may also have similar climate and soil conditions to Mexico, which would lead to a great availability of Mexican food, there might also be many similarities in the cultures of the two regions.
